Privacy Policy

Personal Information

If you register for a user account, NameDaisy requires and stores the following information:

• Email address

Your email address is kept private and is used solely for account authentication and password recovery. We do not send marketing emails or share your email address with third parties.

If you register using a third-party service (such as Google), a profile identifier is captured and stored with your account. This identifier is kept private and is used only to sign you in. No other information from these third-party services is stored or processed by NameDaisy.

User-Generated Content

When you create name lists or save favorites, this data is stored in your account and is private by default. We do not share your personal lists or preferences with other users.

Cookies

NameDaisy uses cookies for the following purposes:

• Authentication: To keep you signed in across visits.
• Preferences: To remember choices such as your selected country.
• Analytics: Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how the site is used. These are only set if you accept them.

Authentication and preference cookies are required for the site to work and are not optional. Analytics cookies are off until you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time. Your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser, not on our servers.

Analytics

We collect usage data (such as page views, referring site, device type, and which features get used) to understand what to improve. This is measured in two ways:

• Our own analytics: Collected directly by NameDaisy, without cookies, and not shared with anyone. We record the page viewed, referring site, device type, browser, operating system, screen size, which features get used, and the network operator you connect from. Visits are grouped using an identifier derived from your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be reversed; the IP address itself is never stored. If you are signed in, events are also linked to your account so we can understand how signed-in features are used.
• Google Analytics: Only if you accept analytics cookies. Google processes this data on our behalf and may store it outside your country. Unless you accept analytics cookies, Google receives only a basic, cookieless record of the page view that is not linked to you or to your other visits.

Information Sharing

NameDaisy does not sell or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we need to run the site:

• Supabase: Hosts our database and handles account sign-in.
• Vercel: Hosts and serves the site.
• Google Analytics: Usage measurement, if you accept analytics cookies.

Your saved names and lists are never shared with other users or sold to anyone. These providers are based in the United States; where UK or EU data protection law applies to you, transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards.

Data Retention

• Our own analytics: After 90 days, events are stripped of the visit identifier, account link, and referring site. Events are deleted entirely after 12 months.
• Google Analytics: Google retains its analytics data for up to 14 months.
• Account data: Your email address, saved names, and lists are kept until you delete your account.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent at any time (for analytics cookies, use "Change your cookie choice" above). To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@namedaisy.com from the address associated with your account. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Children's Privacy

NameDaisy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Information Removal

Deleting your account removes your personal information and saved data. To request deletion, email privacy@namedaisy.com from the email address associated with your account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
